What a Crazy First Year Saving Strays

If you would have asked me a few years ago if this is what I would be doing right now I would have laughed out loud. For me starting my own business was the last thing on my mind. All I knew was that I needed a career change and that I wanted to work with animals in some way. After adopting Annabelle and dealing with all her struggles with medical issues, I started to think about what happens to all the sick strays in shelters. I decided that volunteering alone wasn’t enough for me I wanted to get more involved in the rescue community and specifically helping sick animals like my Annabelle. Somewhere along the way I decided I wanted to mix my passions of designing clothing and helping animals.

Year one has been a crazy journey. Leading up to my first event at the Indy Mutt Strut I was designing our initial products. The plan was to start with t-shirts and tote bags. Simple items that everyone likes and needs. Little did I know that the Mutt Strut in the end of April would be on a freezing cold day. I am talking everyone in coats and hats and taking turns sitting in cars to warm up! Even though it was so cold, and I was only selling t-shirts and tanks tops, my items were flying off the table, and my booth was packed the entire event! We knew that we must be onto something after that! Everyone loved the products but they also loved our mission and our goal to save the strays.

This coming year I am so excited for what is to come. We are always coming up with new ideas of how to help more animals and get more involved in the rescue community! We are also excited to show everyone our creativity and new designs. We cannot wait to see your reactions to our new products that aim to #savethestrays.
